Smart crossroad
Street intersections traffic monitoring and analysis, traffic re-routing to improve crossroad capacity through dynamic management of traffic lights.
Traffic and pedestrian flow adaptive management system is meant to improve road network capacity and traffic safety.
Adaptive road traffic controller
The system is used to automatically or manually switch traffic lights and road signs symbols on a single (local) crossroad or multiple crossroads that are part of a system of coordinated traffic management.
The controller may be managed: from the central hardware-software system in coordinated management mode; in manager mode; in network adaptive mode using data from transport detectors in controlled area; in a standalone mode using preset programs; in local adaptive mode using data from transport detectors. The controller may work with additional modules for connecting transport detectors of various types and by various manufacturers through discrete inputs and outputs.
Peripheral equipment that may be connected to the controller:
- Traffic lights
- Electronic road signs
- Countdown displays
- Radar detector systems
- Wireless magnet sensors
- Crossing request display buttons
- Radio modems
- Induction loop detector systems
- Digital video detector systems

Remote traffic lights monitoring system
- Routine and emergency traffic lights management, analysis of data received from crossroads
- Road controllers, surveillance cameras and crossroad sensors automatic monitoring.
- Data on the system’s condition, errors, messages, system variables and flags is received and transmitted to the graphic interface in a systematic, unified and adapted form. Data is shown on the map, in the crossroad’s window and put into database for further processing, retention and report making.
The system has an extensive functionality for filtering into about crossroad by operating mode, error severity, equipment type, connection status, luminaire alarm.
The system makes more than 12 kinds of reports: instant (quantitative condition updates) as well as reports based on retained data showing time dependencies.
All the received data, users’ actions and system messages are put into a database. Access to the database is gained through the error, events and users’ actions logs. All the necessary data filtering tools are available and information may be exported in Excel format.
System manager is able to promptly manage the equipment: road controllers, surveillance cameras, and transport detectors. The system is used for routine and emergency management: it may switch controller management modes, turn on alarm and necessary programs. The system allows for manual phase switching on the chosen object. There are instruments for road engineers, such as band charts and time-distance diagrams. The system sends automatic error notifications through e-mails.
In addition, the system is connected to a Telegram bot that can be used to receive reports on road controllers’ actual condition.
System implementation results (the average minimum for 2-3 months):
- Accidents reduction and traffic safety improvement: number of accidents reduced by 15%
- Increasing the capacity of equipped intersections by 14%
- Increasing the average speed of equipped crossroads by 15%
